We're part of a team that's making a difference in the quality of people's lives.Think What's Possible.This territory includes San Antonio, Laredo, Brownsville, Harlingen, McAllen (30% overnight travel required).The Specialist will be responsible for meeting or exceeding sales objectives and enhancing the stature of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation within the medical community. Specialists will call on targeted physicians prescribing in the urologic and metabolic bone disease market which includes infusion centers, urology, rheumatology, and endocrinology specialty physicians, as well as specifically targeted primary care physicians as dictated by the call plan. Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to: direct promotion of assigned products, providing disease state education, coordinating co-promotion efforts with Mass Market Representatives, developing Key Opinion Leaders and thought leaders as speakers. This position requires a strong ability to work cross-functionally with mass-market customer business units, therapeutic business units, Government Affairs, and with Corporate and Regional Account Managers and with Regional Business Managers. Responsibilities also include maintaining complete and accurate records; controlling expenses; providing management complete and timely reports on accomplishments, follow-up, and objectives for future calls. Specialists will need to fully understand the metabolic bone disease market place, the IV infusion process and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement process. The Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of national strategies and programs and for developing actionable business plans for their sales territory.The Specialist will be responsible for a large geography and promotion of products to influential customers in their assigned territory and may include overnight travel. Other responsibilities will include preparing the market for anticipated product launches. Institutional experience preferred."Experience/ability to quickly learn and master key products and markets in assigned therapeutic area."Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally."Effective planning, organization, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal (both internal and external) skills. "Exceptional customer relationship building skills."Computer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hand held device literacy preferred.Preferred Requirements:"Hospital and/or Institutional Sales"Managed care and integrated health systems experience.
