Business Applications Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Business Applications Analyst to participate in providing excellent business-systems and support to our Production, Sales, Operations, and Accounting business groups.

Essential experience includes:
•  Analysis and documentation of business processes and business systems
•  Documentation of business software requirements
•  Development of software test plans
•  Validation of software designs
•  Validation of software deliverables
•  Development and validation of report templates, database queries, views
•  Development of end-user training materials and training plans

Essential qualities include analytical insight, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and organization.  In addition to a solid understanding of software development best practices and software implementation life cycle, this position requires expertise in some standard business processes and applications:
•  Sales order processing
•  Shipping and Finished-Goods Inventory Management
•  Production and WIP Inventory Management
•  Receiving and Materials Inventory Management
•  Accounts Receivable
•  Purchasing
•  Accounts Payable
•  Business Reporting
•  E-Commerce
•  B2B

Deliverables are likely to include business context and business process diagrams, software requirements documents, software test plans, assessments of software designs and deliverables, end-user training materials and internal software validation.  In the Business Analyst role, you will be asked to:
•  Define project scope and document project business objectives to optimize business effectiveness and efficiency
•  Analyze and document business workflow and software requirements for both planned new system functions and improvements to existing systems.
•  Evaluate software designs and specifications; assess how well designs address business requirements, and how effective and efficient the designs are from the users’ perspectives.
•  Validate milestone and final software implementations based on design and requirements.
•  Maintain and execute regression test plans across business systems.
•  Develop and maintain training materials; manage delivery of end-user support through business-process managers, periodic retraining, and direct end-user support.
•  Maintain ongoing open communication with end-users in order to proactively identify and assess system and process weaknesses.
•  Manage open-issues lists for maintained systems; integrate new requests for support with open issues lists.
•  Organize acceptance testing; ensure sufficient business-user testing of new systems or extensions to existing systems prior to deployment.
•  Troubleshoot, assess, and resolve business application issues as they arise; maintain troubleshooting history to facilitate prevention or quick resolution of future issues.

Future responsibilities are likely to include management of requirements changes during the software implementation process, broader project-management responsibility and initiative leadership.
