The Business Development Director will acquire opportunities for the company through licensing and acquisitions. He/she will lead negotiations with third parties and the cross-functional deal teams. Work independently on multiple licensing or strategic alliance projects and coordinate activities with Finance, R&D management and Marketing management. The Business Development Director will be assisted in due diligence activities by the Technology Assessment group of the company. The Business Development Director will work closely with the J&J Law Department in the drafting and review of agreements. A minimum of a BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred. A minimum of five years of relevant business development and/or transactional/licensing experience is required. Prior healthcare industry experience is required; diagnostics experience is preferred. A strong orientation of scientific concepts is preferred. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required, as well as excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Ability to analyze markets, value new products, technologies and companies, and develop growth strategies is preferred. Ability to lead cross-functional project teams is required.
