Actively selling all of the development and consulting services of the Constella Group to meet individual, divisional and corporate goals and objectives Targets high priority accounts, concentrating efforts where ROI is the greatest Develops business relationships at key levels within current and potential customer companies Owning all assigned accounts in assigned territories, Developing new business leads/opportunities, Managing relationships with their customers, Defining selling strategies for assigned customers, Insuring that the Operations teams know and understand the needs of each customer, They must work closely with all parties providing input, to ensure that all Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and contract requests are dealt with efficiently, and that the final proposal and/or contract is produced to the agreed timescale.Major Responsibilities: Identifies target customers, markets and services and matches those to the company s capabilities. Develops ongoing professional relationships in order to attain established goals. Follows-up on proposals to customers. Provides input to the team to enable the generation of standardized and creative proposals in response to customer s expressed needs. Provides input to develop and refine pricing algorithms to facilitate and standardize proposal budgeting process. Meets and/or exceeds quarterly and annual sales targets. Grows customer client list and personal/professional relationships. Maintains customer, proposal and contract database/tracking systems. Monitors actual versus contracted performance on an ongoing, proactive basis. Evaluates progress towards new business development and corporate revenue goals. Identifies, contributes and provides strategic information to support Business Development s annual plans and divisional growth strategy. Works with Operations Department heads to assure they are aware of existing proposals and what can actually be accomplished. Be able to represent and present for the company at any and all professional meetings and trade shows. Handles customer inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external customers. Facilitates marketing and strategic links amongst company units. Takes initiative in providing relevant data, competitive intelligence, information, back-up support materials to assist the division and the company to enhance its competitive position and financial success. Maintains the highest professional, ethical and moral position with each and every customer. Performs other duties as needed. Bachelors degree and 8 12 years successful experience in business development directly selling CRO and/or pharmaceutical, biologic or device development and consultative services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or device industry. An advanced degree is a significant plus. Possess a thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical, biotechnology and device industry and terminology. Possess a thorough understanding of the drug, biologic and/or device development process and the role of CROs in that process. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Possess strong interpersonal skills. Possess advanced level spreadsheet and database application skills, and an intermediate level of word processing skills. Possess strong presentation and sales skills.
