Position Summary

 

Responsible for routine procurement of supplies, goods and services in order to meet all departmental needs within an FDA/GMP environment while complying with applicable procedures, policies, and regulations.

 

Principle ResponsibilitiesPrepare bid requests, negotiate price and other terms with qualified suppliers and select the most acceptable source, while always ensuring the best possible quality, price and delivery objectives are met. Process requisitions, analyze each one for proper signature approval and each item for an adequate description, quantity, specification, statement-of-work, delivery requirements, etc. to facilitate a purchase.  Conducts follow-up and/or expedites open purchase orders to ensure end-user satisfaction and vendor compliance with quality standards and delivery schedule commitments.  Input purchase orders and change orders into the ERP system and send confirming orders as necessary.  Processes and maintains a variety of purchase documents.  Maintains purchase order and prime vendor files as required.Negotiate replacement of material for supplier rejections and request credit for costs incurred as a result of defective material. Assist accounts payable in resolving invoice issues.

 

Essential RequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent; or 1-2 years of procurement experience, preferably in a biotechnology manufacturing environment.Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively and efficiently and be accurate, attentive to details, and plan short and long-range activities to meet deadlines.Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of ERP systems. 

 Desired SkillsBiomedical reagent procurement experience.Experience in a medical device, in vitro diagnostic, FDA, GLP, cGMP (QSR) or ISO environment.Familiarity with Quality System Regulations and applicable state and federal requirements.APICS certification.
