Buyer/Planner Needed for a Pharmaceutical Company in Los Angeles, CA

Biomat USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Grifols is seeking a Buyer/Planning for its Purchasing department in Los Angeles, California.

 

Biomat USA, Inc. operates 63 Plasma Donor Centers within the USA.  Human plasma is used to create life saving medicines for bleeding disorders, immune system deficiencies, burns and shock. 

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing order strategies to improve the material flow to donor centers.  The Buyer/Planner will also supervise and train Receiving associates in the Purchasing department.

 

Essential duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

 

1. Determine safety/coverage days, frequency of orders, protection factors, using Fill rate or alternatives.

2. Assist in the development of improved forecasting methods.

3. Assist Purchasing Manager in creating, implementing and training on new processes with centers, suppliers and internal staff to

  improve supply chain performance.

4. Involvement in purchases for technology, locations and/or projects as assigned.

5. Vendor management:  quick resolutions of defective or unacceptable goods issues, statement reconciliation, cost analysis, etc.

6. Supervise receiving and invoice processing functions.

7. Serve as a liaison with General ledger department, Account Payable department in addition to vendors to resolve issues.

8. Oversee receiving documents for filing system.

9. Special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field.

2. Evaluation and/or translation of foreign education (high school, university, or professional training) must be provided.

3. At least 3 years of experience in a corporate environment with a background in Purchasing/Planning.

4. 1+ years of SAP experience or similar ERP system; Oracle, Peoplesoft.

5.  Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

6. Must have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
