The Channel Implementation Lead is a member of the Integrated Marketing and Media Solutions department at GSK and is responsible for managing teams of internal and external partners to ensure the efficient tactical delivery of integrated marketing programs. Channel Implementation Leads are responsible for all areas of tactical implementation including, but not limited to, selection of and contracting with vendors, program management, ensuring adherence with GSK operational and legal policies, standards, guidelines and processes (including vendor training), documentation of program scope and development of Statements of Work, and the delivery of marketing activities on time and on budget.
Integrated Marketing and Media Solutions leverages mass, direct and technology-based marketing channels to deliver profitable marketing campaigns. This includes all media and marketing communication channels.
Accountability
Channel Implementation Leads are responsible for successful implementation and execution of Direct Marketing activities: including, Internet / online marketing (Search Engine Marketing, Banner/Display ads, product web sites, direct response microsites, etc.); CRM / Database Marketing (direct mail, email campaigns, retention programs, database management, etc.), and Non-rep physician marketing (eDetailing, direct mail, etc.).
Channel Implementation Leads must:
▪ Manage GSK resources and external vendors for on-time and on-budget delivery of interactive and direct marketing activities that meet activity objectives. This includes a thorough understanding of the capabilities and strengths of the vendors identified as “preferred/approved" available for assignment on GSK initiatives.
▪ Perform project management according to agreed GSK Project Management processes.
▪ Author Statements of Work (SOW) and scope documents that clearly describe the overall objectives of activities.
▪ Ensure adherence to FDA and GSK Legal policies and guidelines
▪ Leverage industry and internal best practice to ensure efficient and effective implementation into market.Provide timely and accurate reporting and invoicing and management of external business partnersCommunicate activity status in a clear and timely fashion to various stakeholdersOversee multiple project timelinesIdentify and manage risk factors that may negatively impact activity timelines.Manage and report on-going financial status each project and programExecute the process for managing content life cycle of GSK Internet/Direct Marketing Promotions activitiesEnsure proper documentation for copy approval meetings and in post-launch regulatory filings (Internet Promotion) as appropriateConduct ongoing process improvements and cost savings
ComplexityIn cooperation with IMM Account Managers, the Channel Implementation Lead must effectively manage an internally (IMM, APS, MACS) and externally matrixed team whose responsibilities include: recommend tactics, selection of external business partners, timely tactical program implementation, GSK and FDA compliance, and administration of budget while maintaining standards of qualityIn cooperation with stakeholders, the Channel Implementation Lead must work to develop common goals and timelineMust be able to apply project management disciplines and problem-solving skillsRequires continuous education on the use of the Internet and Direct Marketing vehicles to provide compelling ideas and tactical management insights for activities, as appropriateMust be flexible -- willing to adapt to the changing demands of internal customersJob requires the ability to work simultaneously on multiple activities of varying complexityMust be able to prioritize work appropriately, follow direction, resolve issues in a timely and effective mannerRequires the ability to influence othersFrequently asked to participate on task-force assignmentsMust demonstrate leadershipAbility to recognize complex business issues and solve and provide actionable recommendation for resolution and *Experience of the Channel Implementation Lead determines what level of issue should be resolved or escalatedManage expectations of IMM Account Managers regarding timelines and deliverables
Basic Qualifications/RequirementsBS/BA degree in marketing or related discipline 3+ years of experience in direct marketing disciplines, with demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage the tactical execution/delivery of multi-channel marketing initiatives, such as: mass advertising, direct response advertising, database marketing, Internet marketing, and other technology-driven targeted marketing programs.Minimum 2-3 years of project management experience with a demonstrated aptitude for managing multiple projects and priorities. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing deliverables.Demonstrated ability to lead projects or project segments to obtain desired business objectives.Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues/anticipate challenges and present recommendations/solutions to management.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment.Experience with the selection, contracting and management of marketing services providersExperience with project planning software, particularly MS Project and Excel.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in, or working knowledge of, the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry policy and guidelinesCertification in Project ManagementExperience in direct-to-physician advertising and marketing activitiesExperience and understanding of regulations governing direct marketing
