23,000.00 - 43,000.00 USD /year Status: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project, Employee Job Category: Biotech/R&D/Science Relevant Work Experience: 1+ to 2 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Company: Synerfac Technical Staffing Contact: Bill Scully Email: Apply by Email Phone: 412-380-0600 Website: www.synerfac.com Chemist ChemistImmediate Contract-to-Permanent Opportunities  We are Synerfac Technical Staffing: Skilled, capable, technical people come to Synerfac because they know they'll find interesting projects and exciting opportunities at leading companies nationwide. Our client is:  Our Client is a well established analytical consulting services company located near Pittsburgh, PA.  They have needs for Chemists at entry and experienced career levels. Associate ChemistThe Associate Scientist will be responsible for a combination of sample preparation and digestion techniques for the Analytical (Inorganic) Chemistry group.  Other duties include housekeeping, analysis and data review. Duties include:•Working with EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, ASTM preparation and analysis methods and protocols. •Experience with sample digestion and preparation methods. •Familiarity with the operation of analytical instrumentation, such as ICP-AES, ICP-MS or IC, FLAA, Hg CVAA, is preferred but not required. •Knowledge of instrumentation operating principles and ability to interpret the data collected. •Experience with LIMS systems and quality control protocols.Requirements:•BS degree in Chemistry or related analytical field.  Relevant experience in an analytical (commercial) laboratory will be preferable. •Must have good organizational skills and ability to perform efficiently multiple tasks. Chemist IIThe Chemist II will be involved in every aspect of operation of the inorganic chemistry department including but not limited to sample preparation, sample analysis, method development, data quality review and reporting, training personnel, maintaining instrumentation, etc.  Major responsibilities will include the method development and preparation/analysis of samples such as minerals, organic based matrices, metals, etc. Duties include:•Working with EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, ASTM preparation and analysis method and protocols •Prepare, analyze, and report on samples utilizing the following major analytical instruments such as ICP or ICP-MS. •Common technical responsibilities include duties include review and interpretation of data, statistical analysis, technical report writing, and preparation of technical presentations.Requirements:•BS in Chemistry or related field.  Advanced degree preferred.•At least 5 years of experience with digestion/decomposition sample techniques (acid/base digestions, fusions, microwave digestions, etc.) •Working with other instruments such as IC, CVAA, and FLAA will be a plus. Candidates must have a B.S. degree in Chemistry.
