Chemistry Lab Technician

This position will involve daily laboratory testing of food products.  The position requires significant attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.  Minimal laboratory skills include: accurate weighing, pipeting and quantitative transfer of solutions and samples; ability to work with care around hazardous compounds, preparation of solutions; calculation of results; evaluation of the quality of results; operation of common lab equipment; basic troubleshooting of lab equipment.

 

Qualifications:

 

· B.S. or B.A. in chemistry (or related field), and laboratory-related experience (6 months minimum).

· Must work well in a team setting.

· Ability to work independently.

· Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· PC skills—proficiency with Word and Excel preferred.

· Must be flexible in order to work with changing business priorities and schedules
