CHEMISTS - Devens Facility

 

Responsible for performing process research and development, optimization and scale-up of synthetic routes and production for the preparation of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in a cGMP environment.

 Duties and Responsibilities

 Set up, perform and document chemical reactions, work-ups and purifications under supervision.Use distillation, crystallization, chromatography or other basic laboratory techniques.Use and eventually interpret TLC, NMR, IR and other basic analytical techniques.Learn reactions, mechanisms, equipment, techniques, etc., and have the ability to transfer that knowledge to other situations as experience is gained.Perform within a cGMP environment and learn the documentation.Perform in-process tests for determining reaction completion and/or purity of intermediates and API'sMake decisions regarding uncomplicated technical problems utilizing scientific resources and literature.Assist in preparing scientific reports,Present scientific results to team members,Respond to specific client inquiries.

 Experience and Training Desired

 B.S. in Chemistry with 0-5 years experience or M.S. with 2 years of experience.Pharmaceutical industry experience within a cGMP environment highly desirable but not required for entry level B.S.Candidates must be dedicated to providing efficient service to internal and external clients and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
