Chief Operating Officer  The Port City Group, Inc. is representing a well-diversified integrated pharmaceutical industry player with a strong track record of 25+ years in chemicals and polymers business.  This company has a global presence with businesses & manufacturing units in India, Europe, and the US. Location:  This position is based in Bangalore, India Job Statement/Job Purpose: The COO India position is responsible for the over-all Indian operations. The candidate would be responsible for successful and smooth operations to ensure an un-interrupted flow of business processes and deliverables to meet the needs of global customers, from India. Qualifications: Post Graduate in business management from a highly reputed business school in India / abroad. We would prefer a candidate with a medical / research background in biotechnology, drug discovery and pharmaceuticals. Education Level:  Post Graduation is must.  Years of relevant experience: A total experience of at-least 15 years of which the last 3-4 years in a business leadership role with a P&L accountability in the Biotech / Pharmaceuticals / R&D industries. Principal Accountabilities: Driving business responsibility by working in conjunction with the senior management in the group companies & other businesses. Managing projects which span across different geographies. Responsible for maintaining the bottom-line and ensuring achieving the Top line targets of the operations in India. Driving & managing the Innovation India operations in conjunction with the senior level management team in India. Responsible for building the team in India through proper MPP (man- power planning) partnering with HR. Driving the targets in P&L effectively. Understanding of the prevalent organization culture and working with HR in building the culture for the Innovation business team to meet business needs. Supporting the Global COO in his business endeavors.  Leading India team to achieve business goals. Maintaining equilibrium and integrating with the different businesses to achieve business deliverables. Responsible for resource management & utilization, viz. people, computer h/ware, s/ware, Intellectual Property, facility, vendor management, etc. Providing support to all business initiatives in US, Europe & Japan. Responsible for driving career advancement plans, objective / goal setting, deciding on the KRAs for direct reports (DRs) and ensuring a similar approach for down the line reporting in the organization in India. Ensuring regulatory compliances with the legal & government authorities in India & USA as relevant for Innovation business. Budget management on people and revenues.
