Fluidigm Corporation, an innovator in the microfluidic market, is dedicated to delivering the promise of microfluidics through the commercialization of complete and enabling microfluidic systems that impact mission critical objectives within life science research. Fluidigm uses a proprietary process known as Multi-Layer Soft Lithography to fabricate Integrated Fluidic Circuits. We are currently looking for a highly motivated professional to join our team.
Fluidigm is seeking a bright, enthusiastic, independent and flexible Chip Scientist. The successful candidate will work with interdisciplinary teams to extend and enhance our Integrated Fluidic Circuit technology and applications, develop new microfluidic devices, interface methods, and materials. Primary tasks will include device design, development of new fabrication methods, and testing and analysis of new devices.
Essential Duties include:Design devices, develop new fabrication methods, and test/analyze new devices Design, layout, fabricate, and test microfluidic chips Run system and application tests of chips on new and existing instrument platformsData analysis and interpretation Develop interface techniques and hardware for implementation Participate in design reviews and transfer of chip designs into full-scale manufacturing
Minimum desired qualifications: (experience, skills, education etc.)A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering with 2+ years industry experienceExperience with microfluidic, MEMS, or IC design, layout, and fabrication (i.e. CAD software, photolithography, fab floor work) Interface design experience (mechanical design, fluidics, electronics, optics) Experience with PDMS fabrication technology (soft lithography and/or multilayer soft lithography) Biotech/life science experienceFluent with AutoCAD and Matlab Microfluidic or MEMS device testing experienceExperience with constructing thermal, mechanical, fluidic or optical modelsExcellent data analysis skills
