Clinical Laboratory Technician

Seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory testing and technical, clerical and maintenance procedures within applicable departments and will assist other departments as needed or jobs assigned by supervisor.

Hours: First Shift - Monday-Friday: 10:00am-6:30pm and rotating Saturdays: 6:00pm-2:00am

General: Demonstrate ability to act as primary operator of automated analyzers which may include Olympus 2700, Cell Dyn 3500, Immulite 1000, Start4 Coag analyzer. Knowledge of fundamental start-up and shut down procedures of automated analyzers Demonstrate competency to use a microscope and inverted scope with minimal supervision Demonstrate competency in sample preparation, evaluation of patient results and releasing results Ability to prepare reagents, calibrators and controls required for routine operation of automated analyzers and manual tests being performed

?Familiarity with minor troubleshooting techniques on automated analyzers, QC, manual tests, and maintenance procedures

?Active participation in performance of routine and unscheduled maintenance

?Adhere to the Accident and Illness Prevention Program and all other Safety SOP?s

?Active participation in tracking inventory and management of lab resources. This can include working with purchasing department, Shift supervisor and/or Assistant Lab Manager

?Serve as primary source of information regarding departmental methodologies, sample submissions, available tests, and patient results when fielding customer care or client questions

?Provides input to Lead Tech and Lab Supervisor to aid in problem solving

May review other technicians work for errors and report to supervisor

SOPs:

?Read, understand, and following SOP guidelines Training

? Assist in the training of new personnel.

QC: ?Active participation in evaluation of Quality Control data with Lead Techs and Supervisors Personnel:

?Assist in providing coverage for other shifts during high volume and/or short staffing.

?Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or senior techs

?Be willing to work in any area of the laboratory if assistance is needed by that department . Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: 2-4 years of college with science background, preferred

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years clinical laboratory experienceOr 2 years of specialized training
