The Clinical Project Scientist position will be filled by a high performing individual who demonstrates a strong scientific background and a track record for accomplishment in a team setting. Responsibilities will include supporting/driving study design, protocol development and execution of clinical studies. This person will act as a liaison between company and clinical investigators, and will thus be required to develop credible relationships with opinion leaders, medical directors, and key stakeholders. The person in this role will also be responsible for medical monitoring/reporting and company safety officer activities, will evaluate adverse events (pre and post-marketing) for relationship to treatment, and will support the interpretation, reporting of results, and preparation for FDA or other health authority submissions. This person will participate in multi-disciplinary working groups and clinical teams, and on cross-functional teams for evaluation of new product ideas, implementation of franchise business strategies, etc. This person will also be responsible for reviews of medical literature and related new technologies. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; Advanced degree (MS, PhD or PharmD) preferred; requires a minimum of 4 years of clinical research and development experience within the pharmaceutical industry or a CRO. Experience in Anti-Infective product development desirable. Experience with cross company alliances also desirable. Significant experience in supervising and managing clinical research programs is required. Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills are essential. Must demonstrate ability to operate in a matrix environment. Ability and willingness to travel are essential. Travel (including international) is expected to consume up to 30% of time.
