Commodity ManagerRedmond, WA Position Description The Commodity Manager is responsible for leading all supply chain activities in support of electronic related commodities. Leads the Material Team in the management of designated supplier while designing, developing and implementing strategies including: Logistics; Distribution; Quality; Cost and Delivery of product. Position Responsibilities 1. Develop and implement total supply chain strategies and goals for assigned commodity which support department objectives. 2. Provide primary support to product development teams for assigned commodities. 3. Provide leadership and mentoring role for Buyer/Planners, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Procurement Engineers assigned to commodity team. 4. Assume planning and procurement responsibility for specific commodity as needed. 5. Manages the supplier activities for R&D and lifecycle support projects, delivers new parts in time and manages the change control process with supplier. 6. Assume project management role for subcontracted new product development effort. 7. Perform price and cost analyses, and make versus buy analyses as required and drive cost savings in support of department goals. 8. Obtain market condition information regarding commodities and suppliers, and suggest and implement business strategy changes. 9. Travel to supplier locations as needed. 10. Communicates trends in technologies with respect to assigned commodities. 11. Perform other related duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Operations Management. 5 years' commodity management experience Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted. Desired/Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to develop and implement total supply chain activities in support of department requirements Knowledge of current production control methods and procedures and buying standards Strong leadership, customer service, problem solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organization skills 5-10+ years commodity management experience Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Experience with development of new products Ability to organize and prioritize work, and to meet deadlines Supervisory experience desired. Physical Job Requirements Some travel (may be domestic and international) required.
