Computer Systems Engineer III Work Location: Not ApplicableShifts: 01Positions Available: 1Position Summary Under general direction of the Director – Hardware Engineering, responsible for product development and product engineering activities for the AmerisourceBergen Technology Group (ABTG), specifically in the area of computer systems; responsible for applying and introducing new technology to satisfy new and emerging markets. Designs, documents, tests, and modifies current and new components and sub-systems. Contributes to specific assignments and performs work which requires application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering activities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Evaluates and selects computers and computer peripherals, including off-the-shelf and custom components, printers, card readers, biometric devices and displays. Integrates computer solutions with dispensing solutions. Provides technical leadership regarding state of the art computer technologies and trends. Prepares design concepts, creates detailed designs, performs analyses, tests prototypes, and documents completed designs. Uses hands-on approach for building and evaluating prototypes. Understands regulatory needs, including safety, radiated emissions, ESD; may guide development and certification appropriately. Develops problem solving techniques to determine root causes for problems, proposes solutions, and performs validations. Investigates and solves reported manufacturing and service issues; supports manufacturing and service needs. Works with intra and inter-functional groups to optimize design and communication capabilities; works with external customers and suppliers, depending upon project and program activities. Participates in reviewing functional specifications, cost targets, and computer and electrical design requirements. May provide hardware project coordination, including requirements, schedule, and budget; provides project leader with status updates. Performs related duties as assigned. Experience and Education Requirements Preference of a four year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education in Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering. Normally requires a minimum of four (4) to seven (7) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
