This position will be located in Morris Plains, New Jersey. The Consumer Promotions Creative Design Director's principle responsibilities include: Leading and developing a strong, strategic promotional design function for the Johnson & Johnson Group of Consumer Companies. In this capacity, she/he assures that all promotion creative communications are consistent with the overall direction of the corporation, that they foster continuous strengthening of existing brands and the successful introduction of new product lines. This individual has a close, synergistic relationship with the senior members of management and marketing. Additional responsibilities include: She/he will be the team leader of the Consumer Promotion Design team, setting the team mission, goals and long term direction. Direct and/or develop all promotional design and brand promotion communication frameworks and guidelines, which organizes the communication around a single brand idea to ensure consistent expression and integration across all forms of communications. The individual must understand promotional marketing ' and be able to translate brand strategy into an effective visual expression of the brand that leads to outstanding brand promotional results. Ensure that all promotional and marketing design efforts meet a wide range of creative and strategic objectives (defined in creative briefs) and adhere to Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, and quality standards. The individual will lead an internal team of trained professionals, also manage and direct work with external creative partners and design agencies. Create the department budget and ensure that spending remains within projection by focusing on cost controls, accurate forecasting of project estimates vs. actual spend, and seek synergies through design management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design and marketing, a track record as an innovative problem solver and resourceful manager who can lead change and drive growth. A minimum of 10 years of Design Agency or Corporate Design Department Management experience is required. A minimum of BA/BS degree in Graphic Design/Fine Arts is required. Advanced degree in design or marketing is preferred. Strong graphic, creative leadership skills with Marketing savvy are a must. A proactive brand strategist who has executional know-how with a passion for innovation. While working within a brief and brand equity profile, ability to create brand and communications or significantly enhance graphic designs that strengthen communication and brand awareness. Significant experience generating direction as well as managing in-house creative design teams to deliver brand communication solutions is required. Must have strong communication skills and demonstrated experience interacting with senior management in a consultative, solution-oriented role. Able to perform in a fast paced environment where there are numerous initiatives and need for prioritization. Multi tasking and flexibility are musts for the position. Manage the Promotional Design Center, engage and influence enterprise wide design and brand communication teams in other locations. Previous experience leading, motivating and developing designers/managers at all levels with a focus on continually increasing the teams quality of output and enhance the best place to work. Build & integrate external strategic partnerships into graphic workflow (design agencies, pre-press, print). Monitor status/promote corrective requirements to ensure best work environment facilities for all staff and external onsite team members. Ensure & grow the most effective organizational structure within the corporate guidelines to meet the needs of the business.
