Job Description Content Architect Develop and maintain content to support catalogs, the Web site, and other publications.  Ensure that content complies with brand guidelines and quality standards.  Interface with multiple cross-functional teams to respond to their content and publishing requirements. Follow best practices in content development to enhance Web indexing, browsing, search and retrieval.   Specific responsibilities include: – Developing product descriptions in conformance with corporate style and predetermined attributes as well as assigning products to appropriate taxonomy categories, assigning relations for Web- and print-specific uses, and formatting non-text characters for presentation in electronic- or print-channels – Acquiring product images and ensuring that they are captioned correctly, shown with the appropriate descriptions, and linked using the correct relation to ensure proper presentation – Managing small content projects, coordinating the efforts of others to achieve project goals – Contributing to large content projects, including participating in the development and planning process for catalogs and other major content projects as requested – Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned product categories – Obtaining content approvals and identifying and correcting content quality issues – Complying with content management system requirements   Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: – Bachelors degree in Technical Writing, a Scientific discipline or related field; certain positions may require additional scientific expertise – Excellent spelling, grammar, and writing skills required to create and edit content – Working knowledge of scientific terms, abbreviations, and characters a plus – One to three years’ experience creating and maintaining of content – Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and Web search techniques – Experience with content management systems, particularly with organizing and tagging content against a specific taxonomy, a plus   Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: – Ability to partner with internal customers to understand content needs – Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment – Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with time sensitive situations – Ability to effectively prioritize projects and tasks – Ability to communicate effectively and responsibly with supervisors in regard to project progress and deadlines   Job Level: Experienced
