Summary: Fractionation Continuous Improvement Leader is responsible to interface with Fractionation team (technicians, leads, supervision, trainers, coordinators, project manager, manufacturing engineer, and compliance project leader), Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Technical Services to implement continuous improvement projects supporting key strategic imperatives. He/she uses Lean/DMAIC approach to identify the projects, form the teams, and implement corrective actions/solutions to drive results in the areas of safety, training, quality/regulatory compliance, customer responsiveness, financial excellence, operational excellence and innovation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for performing initial failure investigations and root cause analysis in the areas of safety, exceptions, and yield Trend and analyze in-process compliance issues Trend and analyze production efficiency variables Trend and analyze process variations resulting in lower than expected yield Trend and analyze process turn-backs for the final release of FR II, FR V, and Precipitate G. Form teams, lead Kaizens, and implement solutions to drive results based on the trending and data analysis performed in the above areas Support the Project Manager, Compliance Leader and the Manufacturing Engineer in the implementation of any project on the floor Ensure all assigned projects and deliverables (i.e. corrective actions, exception reports, Kaizen action items, e.t.c.) are completed per the commitment date In coordination with Compliance Leader, implement systems to maintain compliance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines, FDA, and any other regulations that apply Ensure 100% compliance with established department procedures and regulations in producing high quality therapeutic products QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications: Must have demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills to interface with technicians, leads, supervisors, and management Must be able to drive results by leading effectively & efficiently the initiatives in a team environment with minimal supervision Must have in-depth process knowledge of related manufacturing equipment and processes- Must possess excellent problem solving skills Must have excellent project management skills Must have exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) Must be able to analyze and interpret scientific and statistical data Must have working knowledge of Federal Food and Drug Administration, OSHA, and Good Manufacturing Practices requirements Must have strong aptitude for operation and controls of manufacturing equipment and processes Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications Education and/or experience: BS degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with 1-3 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent manufacturing experience. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. Working Environment: Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the work environment Will work in a cold, wet environment and climb up and into large processing tanks if needed Will be working in a loud area that requires hearing protection and other protective equipment to be worn Will work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection May be required to work in a confined area Will work in clean room and cold/hot conditions Must be able to work swing shift (2 p.m. - 10 p.m.) As a global leader dedicated to building the best team in health care, Baxter offers competitive compensation and full benefits.
