Controller

General Description:The Controller will be responsible for various aspects of the company's financial operations and report directly to the CFO. Specific responsibilities detailed below.

 

Responsibilities:Daily Maintenance of accounting records.Provides Analysis to Client teams regarding monthly P&L, accounts receivable aging summary.Provides Analysis to departments regarding monthly spending.Maintains monthly, quarterly and annual department budgets.Production of monthly financial statements and reports; comparison of actual results to forecasts and development of variance explanations and updated forecasts.Revenue Recognition, create GAAP analysis by synthesizing information obtained form executive management of a growing company.Liaison with external auditors and manage Audit process, with preparation of schedules and maintain up to date systems for the audit process.Provides external reporting packages to banks, insurance companies and partnersEstablishes and monitors compliance with critical accounting policies and proceduresOversees Contract and Commission Management including managing commission payments to sales force.  § Works with the financial institutions to communicate issues, prepare reconciliations and obtain confirmations. This includes:o computing and accruing payrollo vacationo bonuso legal/accounting feeso interest o payroll taxes o sharing/pension contributionso  other accrued liabilities, as indicated.Assists Sales & Client Teams with the development of proposals. § Maintains required schedules for financial statements.Liaison with other Sela Global Offices Year End Taxes

 

General Requirements:

5-7 years experience, with a BS/BA Accounting Degree. CPA desired.

Effective communication skills. Ability to work within a team-oriented environment.
Strong knowledge of and experience with accounting and financial systems, Solomon, proficient computer skills including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Strong knowledge of GAAP

 

Knowledge in the following areas helpful: Contract Accounting, Corporate Consolidation, IT implementation, Capital planning and justification and Corporate consolidation.
