Controllership - Intern

Key Responsibilities

The Controllership Intern is responsible for assisting the Director of Accounting in a variety of different functions. Specific responsibilities include:Assist with the accounting for the corporate site and a number of other corporate entities.  Includes account reconciliations and analysis of activity, as well as uploading the results into our consolidations system (Hyperion).  Assist with the preparation of company-wide consolidated reconciliations and consolidated analyses of activity in the equity, intangibles, and intercompany accounts.  Coordinate resolution of intercompany discrepancies and entries involving multiple sites.  Prepare consolidating entries as part of the worldwide consolidation.Maintain Corporate Sarbanes Oxley narratives and perform Sarbanes Oxley testing related to the corporate entities.Potentially assist with Sarbanes Oxley narratives and testing at other PerkinElmer sites.Perform other related duties of similar complexity as directed.  This position is a part of PerkinElmer’s corporate accounting group, so additional duties could include, but are not limited to, consolidations of other businesses within the PerkinElmer, Inc. portfolio, tasks related to corporate accounting and external reporting, and special projects. Critical Success Factors 

 

Ø Technical Skills: In process of obtaining finance or accounting degree.

Ø Communication Skills:  Demonstrated interpersonal skills required for the effective discussions with personnel as well as the ability to interface with cross functional leadership.

Ø  Management of Resources: Allocates time and resources efficiently to ensure projects completed accurately and timely, focusing on ever-shifting priorities; continually seeks way to improve individual/team efficiency. 

Ø  Business & Organization Knowledge:  Willing to understand the PerkinElmer business and the impact of the Finance organization on the operation. 

 

Ø Change Management:  Exhibits an assertive personality with a strong bias for action with a results-orientation; tackles tough problems with firm deadlines.
