Controls Engineer

Job Description:

A leading supplier of Custom Liquid Process Systems to the personal care and pharmaceutical industries is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to fulfill a Controls Engineer position. We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and a casual work atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

· Work with associates to develop automated solutions for customer’s liquid process applications.

· Design and integrate electrical and pneumatic controls for automated liquid processing applications, by applying knowledge of electricity, controls, and pneumatics.

· Diagram logic system for required process function.  Develops I/O list for integrated automation solution.

· Prepare project documentation (Functional Requirement Specification (FRS), P&IDs, control panel design, and wiring diagrams.)

· Develop and execute a documented Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for designed controls and equipment.

· Supervise and assist electrical assembly techs to resolve problems regarding building of control systems and electrical panels.

· Coordinate with internal management/staff and customers on project status.

· Provide after-sale technical support.

Requirements:

· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited college or university. Equivalent education and experience combined may be accepted.

· 3-5 years of relevant work experience with automated process systems.

· Experience in the electrical circuit design (including system component sizing and selection), testing, installation, start-up, and troubleshooting of PLC-based control systems.

· Ability to develop automation logic and Human Machine Interface (HMI) configurations. (Mostly Allen-Bradley based)

· Fundamental understanding of industrial computer communications and network implementation; Ethernet, Modbus, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Foundation Fieldbus.

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues associated with software, hardware, and electrical circuits.

· Demonstrated ability to provide customer start-up support associated with automated process systems.

· Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)

· Must have AutoCAD experience.

· Knowledge of ISA-88, GAMP4 and FDA validation regulations/processes a plus.
