Credit & Collections Clerk I Work Location: Not ApplicableShifts: Not ApplicablePositions Available: 1Position Summary Primary Duties and Responsibilities 1. Solicits payment on overdue accounts.2. Responsible for maintaining appropriate records of all delinquent accounts, incomplete files, and credit risks.3. Maintains occasional contact with internal and external customers in order to address all credit and collection issues.4. Maintains a permanent record of each call made to the customer documenting specific details of the conversation as well as the amount and date of expected payments.5. Receives customer payments and posts customer payments to ledgers.6. Works closely with the Customer Service Department to ensure the proper and timely application of customer credits.7. Ensures the appropriate and timely processing of requests for the return of customer credit balances.8. Assists other corporate associates and the Regional Director of Credit in their collection and/or reconciliation efforts for certain national and/or governmental accounts.Performs related duties as assigned.  Experience and Education Requirements Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a two year associate's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires less than one (1) year directly related experience. Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements A minimum of 1-3 years collection-related experience Ability to deal calmly and effectively with customers via telephone while maintaining and promoting a positive image of Besse Medical. Ability to proficiently use a windows based system and to accurately input data. Ability to proficiently operate office machines, including 10 key adding machine, fax machine, and copy machine. Interpersonal skills sufficient to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both customers and fellow associates, along with the willingness to be a team player.
