Customer Strategy Manager, Wal*Mart

The Customer Strategy Manager is deployed to develop strategic initiatives, such as Category Management and long term promotional planning with Key Customers.  The Customer Strategy Manager is accountable for supporting the strategic sales team and establishing a process of gaining agreement to implement and measure the impact of leading-edge business solutions. Information & UnderstandingProvides analysis and facilitates execution in support of Category Management initiatives with Wal-Mart Performs high level, in depth analyses using Retail Link and syndicated data retrieval and provides conclusions Measures performance and impact of initiatives Understands and applies Customer, Consumer and Industry insights using Retail Link, Nielsen Nitro, Nielsen Household Panel, Spectra, AC Nielsen Utilizes RB information systems such as Siebel,  ProSpace, Global Customer Management (GCM) systems, etc Conducts proactive business reviews identifying issues/opportunities/action. Anticipates retailer reactions to New Product entries incorporating saturation vs. expansion forecasts Facilitates long term promotional planning with key customers  Sales PlanningWorks with multi-functional resources to successfully: Implement BMU, brand / category strategies for each account Improve and enhance customer service Adapts knowledge of customer strategies to RB strategy to optimize sales potential Communicates key customer plans/strategies with sales team to ensure full understanding of key customers’ reasonable requirements. Creates and delivers creative group / customer presentations to achieve incremental opportunities Provides understanding and coaching in the use of RB Value added services Conducts weekly BA meetings Selling Seeks, creates and develops new business opportunities to build brand consumption Has authority and latitude to effectively negotiate with multi-functional resources both internally and externally Merchandising/Category ManagementMakes strategic retail category management decisions.
