Job Description:

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Director to lead the pharmacy department through various and exciting projects. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you will oversee a staff of ~35 FTE’s, and manage a >$15 million operating budget. This individual will focus on quality initiatives, such as driving forward the medication safety plan and increasing automation, and will enhance programs to provide exceptional service to our patients. Your first task will be to perform a complete departmental assessment, including workflow design, staffing levels, and pharmacy model, and develop and execute ideas to improve our operational effectiveness. Work closely with the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to oversee and enhance our new Pharmacy Residency program. This individual will also ensure the department operates in accordance with JCAHO and other relevant regulatory agencies. You will develop and foster positive relationships within the department, as well as with the nursing department and physicians, and develop, mentor, and motivate pharmacy staff. This individual will be a part of a team of Directors that drive operations for the hospital. This position is located at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton, Massachusetts.

Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree In Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is required



Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts



Must have 5-10 years of hospital pharmacy management experience, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills



Very good technical/computer skills and organizational skills are required.
