Database Developer Description:Job Description: Database Developer to contribute to the design and development of a battlefield effects database that will combine medical records, military operations and materials analysis data. Duties: Database Developer will work with and across large, distributed engineering & research teams to write the specifications, design the database, supervise the coding and code the database. Investigate solutions to problems; assess alternative approaches to help identify the best acquisition strategy and programmatic approach for information systems that meet researchers needs. Database Developer will test and evaluate COTS/GOTS and custom solutions that are proposed. Database Developer will make and manage the database accessible on the SIPR network.Qualifications:Required: BS degree in computer science with preferably a specialty in database and/or web interfaces. Minimum 10 years experience in database design and creation. Proficient in SQL Server, MS Access, Oracle, or SQL database systems. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Desired: MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related discipline. Experience working with distributed databases. Proficient in Object Oriented Programming. Experience with DOD information systems.
