Desktop Support Technician

Summary

 

Primarily responsible for direct support of Macintosh computers users in a mixed-platform environment, including preventative and remedial support of Mac OS, applications, and peripherals.  Supported computers include desktop and laptop models. 

 

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

 

  * setup and deployment of new computers,

  * configuration of computers to ensure appropriate network access,

  * troubleshooting software & hardware issues, 

  * installation of applications and basic instruction for supported software.

 

Candidates should present a level of comfort and familiarity with supporting the Macintosh operating system (Mac OS X) and Macintosh hardware, as well as excellent customer-service skills.  A basic familiarity with Windows-based machines is a plus.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  * High School Diploma required, Associates preferred

  * Minimum of 2 years related experience.

  * Excellent oral and written communications skills.

  * Exceptional Troubleshooting skills.

  * Must be able to readily learn and adapt to new computing environments.

  * Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

  * Must be able to prioritize and juggle multiple demands and deadlines.

  * Demonstrated ability to work with a team approach and in a service-oriented manner.

  * Experience with Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems and Hardware is required.
