Director, Clinical Data Management

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

This person is in charge of overseeing the design, programming and maintenance of clinical databases.

 

SKILL SET:

1.      5-7 years clinical data management

2.      Organizational skills

3.      Documentation skills

4.      Trained in Good Clinical Practices

5.      Trained in Software Development Life Cycle

6.      Trained in computerized systems in clinical research

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Department personnel and work flow management

2.      Creation of data management plans, SOPs, process flows, data flow diagrams and various reports

3.      Database mapping and management

4.      Client communications

5.      Project Management oversight

6.      Approval of data deliverables

7.      GCP, SOP 21 and CFR Part 11 compliance

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

The Director, Clinical Data Management oversees the data management group and assists Clinical Operations, Systems Development and Quality Assurance as needed.
