POSITION SUMMARY:
*  Lead the development and cross-functional interaction to create company policy and portfolio strategies for in-line and launch products to maximize product access and appropriate reimbursement by key managed care customers.
*  Lead the interface with brand teams and other key cross-functional colleagues to create customer specific access strategies and manage all activities relating to the approval and tactical implementation of these strategies. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
*  Create, in conjunction with field senior management, for Brand Teams the definition, implementation and maintenance of individual customer access strategies for in-market and launch products. Ensure that strategies are integrated into and aligned with brand profitability and promotional objectives.
*  Lead the tactical implementation and negotiation of all commercial contracting customer offers and final customer contracts.
*  Direct development and presentation to senior management of the strategic evaluation and analysis of key customer access contract initiatives.
*  Collaborate in the development of key product contracting strategy development and evolution.
*  Create and evolve the strategic vision of Contracting Development & Analytics to drive motivation and commitment.
*  Collaborate with other business leaders to establish customer access policy across the entire portfolio.
*  Lead the development of new product contract terms and conditions ensuring alignment with product goals: manage the evolution and negotiation of this process.
*  Enforce compliance with all governmental regulations, state and federal laws, and corporate policies and procedures.
*  Evaluate and proactively revise contracting and system resources, processes and procedures to increase efficiency and clarity within process.
*  Set team goals with supporting initiatives to meet strategic objectives of the Contracting and Pricing Management group.
*  Ensure the creation of financial analysis and scorecards to adequately monitor, trend and forecast contract customer performance across products.
*  Develop, with finance, customer specific contract liability forecasts by product to insure accurate and timely reflection in all financial forecasts and results.
*  Develop, maintain and enhance relationships with key managed market customers and leverage this relationship to facilitate appropriate strategies to maximize company and customer value.
*  Establish and manage productive business relationships with JV partners.
*  Supervise day-to-activities, training and career development of all group members.
*  Ensure the creation and timely upkeep of Contract Templates for all Classes of Trade, Standard Operating Procedures for pricing and contract development and operations processes and cycles.
*  Demonstrate role specific competencies on an expert level on consistent basis.
*  Demonstrate company values on consistent basis. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:
*  Manage total team of 14 - 16 individuals.
*  Responsible for maintaining contract access affecting over half of the portfolio sales.
*  Mentor and develop team members. QUALIFICATIONS:
*  The candidate should hold a bachelors degree, preferably in Finance or similar discipline, MBA or CPA highly preferred.
*  10+ years experience in the US pharmaceutical industry including 7+ in contracting department, with diverse contracting experience preferred.
*  Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other segments of CPM, managed markets field sales, product management, legal and finance.
*  Demonstrated skills in contract financial analysis and return on investment metrics.
*  Strong process skills, ability to manage department to deliver complex product to external and internal customers within established timelines.
*  Applies appropriate interpersonal styles and communications methods to influence and build effective relationships with business partners (e.g. peers, functional partners, external vendors and alliance partners) typically senior management.
*  Analyzes and uses qualitative and quantitative data; extrapolates pertinent trends impacting organizational effectiveness and incorporates understanding into decision criteria.
*  Able to effectively manage competing priorities, with consideration to highest level of business impact and also maintaining control over multiple priorities simultaneously.
*  Demonstrates a macro market view and can develop and incorporate an understanding of the macro market customer business climate, and has awareness of economic, social, and political trends that can directly impact the company's customer centric objectives and strategies.
*  Able to act as an articulate advocate for work group, business unit, and the organization. Provides consistent communications (both positive and negative information delivery) and is proactive and timely in the conveyance of this information.
*  Provides timely coaching, guidance, and feedback to help others excel on the job and meet key responsibilities.
*  Uses appropriate methods and interpersonal styles to develop, motivate, and guide a team toward successful outcomes and attainment of business objectives.
