Title:   DIRECTOR – GLOBAL ENGINEERING, HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (JH08116)

Reports to:  Senior VP, Global Manufacturing and Supply

Locations: Northern, New Jersey

 

Our client is an extremely well regarded $2 Billion OTC Pharmaceutical Division of a Multinational Drug and Consumer Products company. We seek a successful consumer packaged goods Director –Global Engineering - Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) executive to provide leadership and direction to the Global Engineering -Health, Safety and Environment(HSE) functions. Reporting directly to the Senior VP Global Manufacturing & Supply, this position will be responsible to lead technology strategy and capital management, and coordinate all efforts that will ensure uninterrupted availability of key business functions, processes and resources required to support essential business activities.

 

Position  Responsibilities

· Leads global capital and technology strategy development and implementation to support innovation and existing supply chains and facilities.

· Leads the development and implementation of new technologies, to support faster and lower cost supply solutions to market.

· Leads the implementation of major projects in the Global Strategic Network Supply Chain strategy, including new facilities and flexible manufacturing solutions within existing sites.

· Leads the development of organization design and changes to support the global matrix structure.

· Facilities Management – supports site-controlled capital projects, in terms of needs analysis, technical direction, resource allocation through the evaluation and capital appropriation approval process.

· Provide engineering standards. Current and new sites to be aligned with the technical strategy. Evaluate potential sites and Third Party equipment proposals to ensure the best fit between need and technology.

· Defines optimization/harmonization plans in packaging materials, in line with SKU rationalization and COGS reduction programs.

· Leads global packaging strategy with production plants.

· Health & Safety and Environment – plans, directs, and implements global industrial hygiene, safety, security and environmental programs leading towards a safe and accident-free environment as well as regulatory compliance for OTC sites and 3rd party manufacturers.

· Establishes training programs for managers and associates in health, safety, security and environmental procedures and practices.

· Acts as a pivotal support to OTC affiliates and manufacturing sites on all HSE related problems.

· Conducts facility inspections and audits to detect existing or potential, HSE issues.

· Serves as liaison to Corporate on issues requiring inter-BU/Division level reconciliation. Represents OTC BU on Corporate HSE initiatives, and business reviews

Experience/Education Requirements

· Engineering University degree

· Minimum 10 years experience in related engineer project/program management

· Minimum 5 years experience in Health, Safety & Environmental management

· Strong negotiating skills

· Solid understanding of General Business drivers, specific supply chain processes and marketing concepts

· Entrepreneurial approach

· Proven people management skills

· Experience with multiple geographical regions preferred.
