Director, Key Account Development-Life Sciences

Reporting to the Vice President of Key Account Development for one of the largest non-asset based global logistics providers with revenues in excess of $14 billion dollars.  The company is a global third party logistics provider delivering end-to-end supply chain management, including air and ocean freight forwarding, warehousing & distribution and arranges the transportation of goods by road and rail, and offers customs brokerage services. The company's contract logistics unit offers warehousing and distribution services. Primary responsibility is to maintain and drive revenue growth in the Life Sciences vertical in the US, Canada and Mexico within existing customer base complimented by new business development. Responsible for three direct reports and leading the consultative, strategic, customer focused selling of all products and services.  Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, pricing, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale.  Challenge is to increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
• International Freight Forwarding (5 years)
• Consultative Third-Party logistics Sales
• Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry (manufacturers, medical devices, generics, biotech, health care)
• Global large account management
• Pharma logistics (transportation, cold chain, warehousing, pick & pack, sample reconciliation, product recall, destruction, lot & batch control integrity)
• Sales management
• Developed strategies and executed business plan
• Travel up to 50%
• Residence:  New Jersey (will relocate)
• Computer literate (Office 2000 Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Background Preferred (but not required):
• Direct work experience in Pharma industry (manufacturers, medical devices, generics, biotech, healthcare)
• Integration of Technological Systems (TMS, WMS, I-2, Manugistics) 
• Knowledge of Contact Management Program (i.e. ACT, Goldmine)
• Education: 4 year Bachelors degree
Other essential abilities and skills:
• Good communicator (Verbal & Written)
• Executive level presentation skills - Selling to C level, Vice Presidents and Directors
• Proven leadership (with Solutions, Operations, Finance, Legal & IT)
• Team building
• Proven tenacity to close
