Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., provides in vitro diagnostic products to hospital, commercial and clinical laboratories, and blood donor centers. Its products include reagents and instrument systems used in blood typing and donor testing; clinical chemistry determinations and immunoassays for disease diagnosis and therapy management; as well as RhoGAM, an injectable drug used to prevent hemolytic disease of the newborn. The Director of Market Development will be responsible for refining market opportunity and for creating and executing market development strategies and tactics within local markets to drive increased awareness and expansion for new OCD biomarkers that address significant unmet medical needs. Individuals in this role should have the ability to utilize healthcare and/or laboratory knowledge to assess clinical opportunity, viability and market potential of new to the world products, supported by well-structured market research. Individuals should also have the ability to create dynamic market models to assess opportunity, impact on current product line, investment justification and perform sensitivity analysis, leading to business case. This position must be capable of transferring market knowledge and effectively collaborating with internal business partners (Evidence Based Medicine, R&D, Finance, Franchise Development and other J&J Franchises) to gain commitment for action. An understanding of competitive products, positioning and strategies to allow prediction of new market dynamics, competitive differentiation and competitive responses would be helpful. This position should serve as a champion/spokesperson for business case and marketing strategy at Business Development Council meetings. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Degree is preferred. A minimum of 9 - 12 years in-depth experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech or medical device is a requirement. A minimum of 2 - 3 years Director level experience required (i.e., managing and developing people; setting business direction and establishing priorities; building alignment with Senior Management). Market Development experience required (i.e., launching a new to the world product or creating new categories outside of an existing market) Experience with health economics and reimbursement is preferred.
