Neutrogena Corporation develops, manufactures and markets premium skin and hair care products sold worldwide and recommended by medical professionals. The product line includes bar and liquid cleansers, shampoo, hand cream, body lotion, facial moisturizers, sun protection and cosmetics, as well as other hair and skin care products. This position represents the lead role in the Marketing Research department at Neutrogena. Manage a team of Marketing Research professionals to drive consumer centricity throughout the Neutrogena organization, generating data and consumer insights that influence and drive business decisions, strategies and growth. Select, reward, and train employees in accordance with Neutrogena's policies and applicable laws and regulations, Plan, direct, mentor, and develop performance of market research team to be effective, credible, and respected: Motivate employees, assist in goal setting, provide development opportunities and performance feedback, address complaints and resolve problems. Develop and lead market research strategies and objectives to influence and meet the organization's strategic goals. Ensure a sound research strategy/plan is in place for all Neutrogena initiatives.Lead integration and application of consumer insights across company. Provide thought leadership on major category business issues/concerns and influence business strategy. Review and improve current research processes, and evaluate state-of-the-art market research developments to identify and experiment with new techniques. Influence, enable, and inspire effective innovation process. Apply new tools/methods to aid in insight identification and innovation process. Design market research programs, direct their implementation, analyze results, communicate research analyses, make recommendations, and influence decisions. Effectively influence strategy and vision based on consumer understanding and data. Educate and help guide organization on Neutrogena brand equity, and recommend strategies to strengthen and extend equity. Recommend direction of, or changes to, brand positioning, communication strategies, and marketing mix based on consumer knowledge and expertise. Identify and communicate relevant trends, insights, and white space opportunities for the Neutrogena brand. Lead Marketing Research training for the rest of the organization, including Brand Equity training. Manage overall account relationship and contract between IRI and Neutrogena. Manage Marketing Research Budget and control costs. Communicate and collaborate with greater J&J MRD global community, particularly within Beauty Care GBU. Participate on North American MRD Board. Influence upper management and collaborate well with other leaders. A Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Marketing from a four-year college or university is required; Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Degree is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ten years of market research experience is required, including the following: Must have experience in skincare / beauty care industry. Must have experience in a consumer packaged goods industry. Experience in using syndicated sales data and household panel data using IRI or Nielsen is required. Experience in building and managing high performance market research professionals is required.
