Provides leadership to the Regulatory Affairs department including allocation and management of department resources to accomplish corporate objectives. Interfaces with outside regulatory agencies as a Guidant representative.Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.1. Recruits, coaches and develops organizational talent. 2. Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. 3. Creates an entrepreneurial environment.4. Provides general direction to managers, exempt specialist and non-exempt support in various areas, groups and/or operations.5. Keeps the organizations vision and values at the forefront of decision-making and action. 6. Demonstrates effective change leadership.7. Builds strategic partnership to further departmental and organizational objectives. Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, outside regulatory agencies, customers, vendors and/or suppliers.8. Coordinates across functional areas, business units, and/or geographies in order to achieve company or area goals. 9. Utilizes technical/professional knowledge and skills to establish, interpret and execute company policies in a major segment of the company.10. Makes and executes operational decisions with a strategic perspective. 11. Directs and controls the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups and/or operations.12. Monitors and updates on changing regulations. 13. Submits necessary reports to regulatory agencies.QualificationsMonitors progress of departments or units toward divisional and company goals; monitors all costs associated with assigned organizational unit; monitors company-wide indicators such as market share and profitability; monitors industry trends and external environment in areas relevant to the assigned organizational unit. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations. Develops and/or identifies new work processes that will have broad applicability throughout the company; contributes ideas for improving work processes and achieving organizational goals; investigates and solves problems that impact work processes and personnel in multiple units or departments; develops and communicates a vision for a major segment of the organization.Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
