Director, Reimbursement Policy & Government Account Managers

POSITION TITLE: Director, Reimbursement Policy & Government Account Managers 

 

DEPARTMENT: Managed Markets & Reimbursement   

 

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Managed Markets & Reimbursement

 

SUMMARY: The Director, Reimbursement Policy & Government Account Managers is responsible for obtaining optimal and timely coverage, coding and payment for AMAG products within Federal and state (Medicare/Medicaid) health care programs.  This position will direct a staff of nationally deployed Government Account Managers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Staff and direct the Government Account Management Team. 

Develop reimbursement strategy, direct and coordinate all AMAG activities related to obtaining Company/product objectives within the federal marketplace and in particular with CMS at a national and local level. 

Serve as AMAG subject matter expert on issues pertaining to CMS, Medicare and Medicaid programs. 

Develop performance objectives and strategic and tactical plan for the Government Account Manager team.

Ensure all Government Account Managers have advanced skills in reimbursement policy, product knowledge, selling/negotiation skills, customer knowledge, and organization/time management.

Develop incentive programs that are aligned with performance objectives and develop metrics to assess individual and team performance.

Demonstrate exceptional coaching, leadership and communication skills.

Serve as primary point of contact for CMS national.

Prepare and deliver effective presentations to senior management.

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

 Bachelors degree requiredRenal therapeutic experience a plus  Pharmaceutical sales/sales management experienceLarge account/ payer account management experienceExperience with obtaining reimbursement of products with Medicare part B at a national and local level.  Experience with obtaining reimbursement of products with state Medicaid programs.10 plus years within the pharmaceutical industry Willingness to travel extensively (60-70%)
