Sales/Retail/Business Development Reference Code: 704441 Director, Sales Strategy - Consumer Health Care - (Job Number: 0805361) DescriptionJohnson & Johnson Sales and Logistics Company, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Director, Sales Strategy for Consumer Health Care. This position can be based in either Morris Plains or Skillman, NJ. The Director, Sales Strategy - Consumer Health Care is responsible for leading a new category initiative and coordinating the efforts of all brands and brand segments within the assigned product groups, including a specialized portfolio of Out of Home products across various brands, brand segments, and categories. The Director, Sales Strategy is responsible for supporting the achievement of Category sales objectives by providing marketing strategies and action steps, analytics and insights to customer teams for the category. The incumbent is responsible for delivering best-in-class strategies and marketplace approaches to maximize business results while increasing market share and growth within the category. The Director, Sales Strategy is accountable for overseeing the development of category strategic trade plans aligned with Marketing objectives. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing active support to the customer sales team to enable the achievement of Sales and Profit plans of the customer for all products within assigned portfolio; Development of the portfolio platform and provision of customer, consumer, and buyer insights to enhance customer team's ability to maximize growth and share with customers; Aligning of goals, roles, responsibilities, and protocols within Strategy Team and across broader Customer Team; Aligning key customer strategies with optimal development; Serving as the primary liaison between the Customer Team, Sales, and Marketing for all sales strategy issues related to products; Supporting best practice go-to-market strategy executions with sound and consistent processes and communication to field; Overseeing, from start to finish, the New Item Sales Plans for this new category initiative; Development and monitoring of New Item Launch process to support the customer team's ability to maximize sales from date of entry into the marketplace; Overseeing the development of category insight plans to support the overall platform for the product to ensure appropriate research is identified and funded; Leading the development and delivery of the product, placement, pricing, and promotion (4P's) and Business Planning process for portfolio products; Providing a marketplace view at the national level to cross-functional partners to ensure that product marketing and sales strategy is developed and executed, based on accurate insights and assumptions; Building and leveraging relationships with senior level cross-functional counterparts including promotion, trade strategy, marketing, and research; Fulfilling responsibility for Human and Financial resource deployment decisions across Categories and compliance to sales policies; Developing and implementing industry-leading strategy with senior decision-makers at both the Customer and Company that enhance business results and operational effectiveness; Penetrating top marketing, the merchandising department management, analytical customer decision makers and all other necessary Customer contacts impacting the product portfolio for which they are responsible; Leading the Talent and Performance Management of reporting staff, while identifying and developing top potential individuals who can fill the succession planning needs of the company in the future, including alignment of goals, roles & responsibilities, and protocols within team and broader department and career development of the team members. A minimum of a 4-yr degree is required. A minimum of 10 years prior Consumer Packaged Goods sales experience with at least 2 years strong category management/analytical experience is required. Must be able to positively influence decision-makers up and down one or more levels, with and without authority, to achieve business objectives and ensure a fully-aligned customer/company business plan. Recognized as a leader by customers, team members and internal business partners. Demonstrates effective communication and negotiation skills to solve problems, gain agreement with and inform others, while targeting long-term objectives. Uses facts and data analysis to identify good options and make/implement good decisions. Ability to create fact-based presentations to translate sales objectives into customer strategy and business plans around distribution, merchandising, promotion and planogram placement. Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies or initiatives, both with customers and internal business partners. Demonstrates and effectively applies consumer industry and cross-category knowledge & expertise. Serves as liaison between the customer, team counterparts and internal support team members to foster a culture of growth and collaboration. Represents the face of the company to the trade and the voice of customer to the company. Penetrates the appropriate customer and internal functions to achieve maximum results on sales objectives. Acts with urgency to make the most of opportunities, address customer needs and accomplish goals and objectives including the launch of new items with excellence on speed to market and store penetration with maximum shelf presence for the opportunity. Ability to complete projects and follow processes to manage results including volume achievement. Ability to plan tactics to support broader company and brand objectives. Ability to manage funds and resources for the greatest return on investment for the company. Able to identify and assess risk and prioritize competing demands for resources of time and money and apply resources to maximize profitable sales. Ability to accurately forecast and predict business results.
