Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical Services, L.L.C. (J&JPS), is a legal corporate entity encompassing a unique group of six business units that provide leadership of critical business processes across the Pharmaceutical business segment of Johnson & Johnson. The business units that make up J&JPS include the following: Pharmaceuticals Group Strategic Marketing (PGSM); CNS/IM Communications; CNS/IM Global Medical Affairs; U.S. Pharmaceutical Procurement Group (USPPG); Pharmaceuticals Group Business Development (PGBD); and Global Health Economics and Pricing (HE&P). This position is a critical part of the Global Commercial Team (GCT) within Pharmaceuticals Group Strategic Marketing (PGSM). The Director, Strategic Marketing, Risperdal Consta develops and communicates the Global Life Cycle Management Plan and assures continued implementation of global best practicestrategiess for this novel long-acting antipsychotic. Responsibilities include: sets the commercial strategy for the compound by integrating input from key global stakeholders. Enlists support for the vision via leadership, influence, and negotiation with internal partners. Provides strong leadership to the Global Commercial Team (GCT) to ensure consistent global execution of strategic elements including branding, public relations, congress support, market access/pricing plans, communication and resource allocation, secondary/new indication launch tracking and sharing of best practices. Leads the development of Global Life Cycle Plan and other core commercial activities for primary and secondary indications. Partners with Market Research team to develop and deliver the customer and market insights required for sound marketing strategy. Develops and shares across the GCT and CDT a deep understanding of the antipsychotic market, both current and long-term. Key components include the Market Definition (disease state, unmet patient needs, market size and growth forecast for major countries), regulatory and payor environment, and anticipated changes in technology and treatment paradigms. Shapes commercial strategy to align with those trends and anticipated landscape changes. Leads the development of forecasts and full asset valuation in collaboration with the Global Business Analytics. Works with Global Marketing Leader to ensure smooth hand off of global plans to regional and local affiliates as well as the continuity of strategy, tactics, and operations. Partners and communicates with J&J Pharmaceutical Services functional specialists, R&D, operating companies and other key stakeholders to ensure integration of key strategies. A Bachelors Degree is required. An MBA or Masters degree is preferred. A minimum of 7 years progressive experience in sales, marketing, and product development is required. Pharmaceutical experience is required. Frequent interaction with senior management is required. Demonstrated ability to develop deep understanding of medical, technical, and commercial aspects of product against market needs is required. Familiarity with scenario analysis and forecasting to support launch planning is preferred. Previous launch in US and Global markets is preferred. A deep understanding and previous application of Marketing Excellence framework and tools, or similar type of product commercialization process is required. Practical knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing that includes regulatory environment, reimbursement, and health care industry is preferred. Global experience is preferred. Knowledge of the CNS therapeutic area is required. Experience working on a long acting injectable is preferred. Must have a demonstrated track record leading highly matrixed, cross-functional work teams. Previous people management experience is preferred. This position requires up to 20% travel, both domestically and internationally.
