Director World Wide Reimbursement - (Job Number: 0717417) DescriptionOrtho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Director, World Wide Reimbursement, located in Raritan, New Jersey. Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., provides in vitro diagnostic products to hospital, commercial and clinical laboratories, and blood donor centers. Its products include reagents and instrument systems used in blood typing and donor testing; clinical chemistry determinations and immunoassays for disease diagnosis and therapy management; as well as RhoGAM, an injectable drug used to prevent hemolytic disease of the newborn. The Director, WW Reimbursement is responsible for development and communication of the "value story" to ensure optimized coverage and reimbursement for (current and future OCD products. The Director, WW Reimbursement (Payor Relations) works with Health Economics / Outcomes Research, Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, Franchise Development (for early pre phase 0 consults) and Marketing to develop reimbursement strategies and programs specific to the disease and product marketplace. The Director, WW Reimbursement also works with the payor communities (national level/regional/country as well as private payors) and with key stakeholders in the medical community to guide implementation of externally focused strategies and programs. This includes programs for education of customers regarding the value of OCD's products. Primary responsibilities include assessing government reimbursement environment (coverage, coding, payment) and designing and implementing reimbursement and communication strategies to proactively leverage data to negotiate favorable policies with public (Medicare, Medicaid and local governing bodies i.e. governments) and occasionally private (managed care) payors. This includes: Analyzing the impact of potential reimbursement changes to current and future markets and assessing the reimbursement opportunities and challenges for new product or licensing & acquisition targets. Works closely with J&J Government Affairs to effectively influence positive public policy and reimbursement decisions. Develops and implements strategic programs to educate customers about the value of OCD products including coding conventions. Establish and maintain appropriate and compliant communication linkages with customers (web tools, updates, seminars, hotlines, etc.). Provide education and consultation to internal business partners on reimbursement and public policy issues. Excel at environmental scanning and interpretation to find opportunities to improve technology adoption and acceptance. This may include active involvement with technology assessment groups (AHRQ, NCQA, JCAHO, professional societies, AdvaMed, or other stakeholders or governmental organizations). Assist with development and review of marketing or medical affairs materials related to reimbursement and policy as requested. Bachelor's degree required. Emphasis in business or science degree preferred, Masters degree preferred (MPH or MBA). A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required. Proven track record of excellence in presentation of complex materials required. Must have good understanding of clinical data and outcomes research and ability to integrate into business communications. Detailed knowledge and experience with Medicare payment methodologies (coding, coverage, payment, both inpatient DRGs and outpatients OPPS), and payor and hospital technology decision processes required. Must have proven track record of effective working relationships with payor customers and decision-makers (private and public). Government payor relations experience is needed. Strategic thinking with a bias for actions/implementation. Strong collaborative style, both internally and externally to build consensus and achieve objectives. Previous experience with management and development of employees strongly preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Detailed knowledge of insurance companies, HMOs, Medicare, and hospital payment systems. Strategic and Critical Thinking skills.Excellent communication and presentation skills. Influence and negotiation skills required. Must work well in a matrixed, team environment. Basic marketing, research and sales skills required.Understanding of regulatory and reimbursement environments and requirements. Up to travel 30% domestic/international travel required. Apply Now
