Director of Business Development and Sales

Director of Business Development and Sales

(Early-stage biotech company)

 

Duties:

  Support top management by providing analysis for evaluating new business opportunities and overseeing company development. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  Lead commercial launch plan development, inclusive of branding and relationships with government agencies and sales teams.

  Build strong relationships with key customers and medical diagnostic-industry thought leaders.  Employ market research as required to identify and interpret changing customer perspectives, demands, and needs for company products.

  Lead expansion of medical diagnostic device into new geographies.  Identify and assess new product opportunities to accelerate growth of portfolio.

 

Qualifications:

 

Business development and marketing experience, preferably in the medical diagnostic industry.  Experience in working with government agencies preferred.

  Experience in developing strategies within the biotech industry and delivering targeted results through successful implementation. Business Developers will focus on one of the following markets: -Companion animals (e.g. dogs, cats, and horses) -Agricultural animals (chickens, cows, and pigs) -Government/Bioterrorism (avian influenza, DTRA: Defense Threat Reduction Agency)

  Professional contacts in government and/or agricultural industries are a plus. 

  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.

  Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline or business administration.  MBA preferred.  Minimum seven years of related marketing or sales experience, ideally in medical diagnostics or biotech.

 

 Must be willing to interview in person in our New York City office.
