Director of Pharmaceutical Division

Medsource Rx, a national wholesaler of pharmaceutical, medical-surgical, health and beauty and over-the-counter supplies, is searching for an experienced Director for our Pharmaceutical Products Division.   Medsource Rx is looking for someone who has been working in the sales/account management and or purchasing areas of a Pharmaceutical Company and would like to bring that knowledge and experience to help develop and expand our Pharmaceutical division.  Most desired would be an individual who has had experience working with a generic and or specialty pharmaceutical company.

 

Requirements

 Develop Strategies to increase market share for retail sales and other end use channels through identification of target Vendors & Customers across the US

 Develop strategies to determine appropriate specialty/vertical markets to penetrate and appropriate product mix to inventory for those markets - (potential vertical channels could be Veterinary, Dental, Physician Supply, Managed Care, Long Term Care, Institutional Sales….)

 Development of procurement/sales activities for Generic and or Specialty Pharmaceutical products.

 Grow business with existing Vendor/Customer base and effectively manage growth of new vendor/customer acquisitions

 Assist in development of effective systems for ongoing management of all related pharmaceutical business activities

 Establish and execute appropriate Contracts with Vendors/Customers based on pricing, volume, and terms – including development of relationships with appropriate Group Purchasing Organizations and Manufactures.

 Some travel will be expected for this position

 

Qualifications

 Must have prior Pharmaceutical Industry related experience (particularly generic pharmaceutical and or specialty pharmaceutical) with proven track record in the development of sales channels, cost reduction & profit improvement and development of purchasing/sales programs to meet corporate objectives

 Effective decision maker in supplier selection, sales channel selection, maintenance and evaluation of performance for Pharmaceutical division

 Strong ability to represent the needs of our organization and secure vital goods and services from outside vendors

 Strong ability to analyze market trends and determine best sales channels to pursue in order to grow and develop business

 Able to maintain and develop already established vendor & customer account relationships
