District Manager DCC - Valencia, CA (BXD00)
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this position is to implement objectives and programs for Takeda’s sales activities in an assigned district. The District Manager directs sales representatives efforts to maximize Takeda’s sales and profit. This manager also coordinates sales training for the district. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible for meeting yearly sales goal for the district.Implement sales and marketing programs to support Takeda’s plans for U.S. growth in assigned district. Recruit, screen and hire Sales Representatives for the assigned district.Develop the knowledge and skills of the Sales Representatives.Work with the sales trainers to implement training programs for district sales staff.Obtain feedback from sales representative and customers on new and existing products.Relays customer and sales staff feedback on products to Sales Directors and Vice President.Work with Regional Accounts Managers to stay up to date on managed market issues in district and implement initiatives to maximize sales.Serve as liaison with other functions, as well as other sales and marketing personnel.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Education and Experience:Required: Bachelors degree3 years of pharmaceutical sales/marketing experience, or 3 years in health-care related field including nursing or pharmacy.Preferred:3+ years of previous management or account management experience.Knowledge and Skills:Industry Knowledge – good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the prescription drug distribution process (e.g. medical referrals, managed care systems, etc.)Product Knowledge – good understanding of the medical/therapeutic usage of the products.Sales Techniques – good understanding of sales methods, tools and concepts (e.g., sales promotions, cross-selling, sales-force training and development, etc.)Takeda Operations – good understanding of Takeda’s operating structure and methods including a thorough knowledge of product distribution channel.Communication – Ability to communicate ideas, data both verbally and written, in a persuasive and appropriate manner.Strategic Implementation – Ability to implement the sales programs.Management – Ability to set priorities, develop workflow processes, and manage staff.People Development – Ability to assess strengths and weaknesses of staff members and provide suggestions for improvements.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:Valid driver’s license.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/client sites – limited overnight.
