Driving/Warehouse Position (Excellent Pay and Benefits)

We have an opening for a Driver/Warehouse position (full time) at our Fremont location. This position needs an experienced, responsible person who is able and willing to perform both local and out-of-state deliveries (4-5 day overnight route; no weekend overnights - averaging once every three weeks) to hospitals and health care facilities as well as attending to general warehousing duties as needed (pulling and picking orders, shipping and receiving, etc.).

 

We also need this person to have excellent customer service skills and be willing to work in a flexible, small team work environment. This position requires the lifting of up to 45 pounds regularly. A High School degree or the equivalent as well as driving experience that would relate to this position are required. A current (within 30 days) DMV printout is also needed upon application to this position. Our company’s vehicles include 15 and 24 foot trucks. Additional training for this position is provided. Hazardous Materials endorsement is a plus.

 

This is a permanent position with a full benefits package (Medical insurance, 401K, sick pay, vacations and holidays). Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening test.

SUMMARY:

 

Performs a variety of duties in support of the Regional Service Center operation. Makes deliveries, supports logistics and coordinates activities related to transportation. Must possess or be able to complete requirements for Commercial Driver's License.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Transports product from the Regional Center to specified hospitals and health care facilities.

·  Helps plans driving route to ensure most economical use of time and equipment.

·  Performs routine inspection on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to Branch Manager or Service Technician.

·  Thorough understanding of the business and the business model, and well as all federal regulations that apply to the position

·  Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards (i.e., cGMP, Hazmat, and OSHA)

·  Performs additional duties as assigned by Branch Manager or supervisor.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

·  Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.

·  Skilled in the operation of required tools and equipment.

·  Ability to safely drive various types of vehicles (e.g., box truck or cargo van).

·  Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the external customers.

·  Must possess good oral and written communication skills.

·  Ability to work independently.

·  Ability to perform manual tasks under varying weather conditions.

·  Ability to make independent judgments, which have moderate impacts on the organization.

·  Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.

·  Computer literate

 

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from High School or GED equivalent, three (3) years relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job.
