Job Description Electrical/Mechanical Designer Responsibilities: Electrical designer to be responsible for control panel & cable/harnesses design used in medical equipment.  Will work with UL agency for listed products. * Generate and develop conceptual, prototype, and final design of new or redesigned electrical and/or mechanical products including mechanical details, piping, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and refrigeration systems. * Establish product costing. * Perform engineering calculations to ensure product compliance to customers specifications. * Generate and revise standard and custom detailed and assembly drawings according to design and contract specifications using computer hardware and software, drawing reproduction machines, and all other tools required to complete this process. * Generate and revise bills of material and bills of operation for standard and custom assemblies. * Work with UL to maintain existing listing and to have new products UL listed * Support in the design and building of working prototypes of redesigned and new product projects. * Provide engineering support to manufacturing, sales, quotations and customer service personnel; also provide support to customers. * Maintain drawing and project files per ISO requirements. * Meet all schedules, developed by management, for assigned products. * Respond to company and customer inquiries in a timely manner. * Travel as required to job sites for project meetings and/or project management. * Perform general housekeeping of work area. * Perform other duties as required by management. Qualifications: * Minimum 3-5 years of electrical and mechanical design experience including Autocad or Solid Works software operation in a manufacturing environment. * Electrical design experience required, refrigeration control design a plus * Microsoft Office software knowledge preferred. * Associate degree in CAD/CAM from an accredited college, vocational technical institution or equivalent preferred. * Computer literate including latest version of Autocad and Solid Works also preferred.  Education: High School/GEDJob Level: Experienced
