Vertex's product pipeline is focused on viral diseases, inflammation, autoimmune diseases, cancer, pain and bacterial infection. Position Overview: The Engineer/Associate Engineer will possess a clear understanding of functionality for multiple supported products and/or applications and of the practical business processes customers use when implementing the supported products. They will also possess both exceptional technical know how in the designated areas. S/he will be well versed in delivering that skill to a highly technical customer base including executive level. The ideal candidate will be able to support the development and deployment of standards based desktop infrastructure including OS and application packages. The individual will possess deep experience in the following areas/technologies: " Solid experience with corporate collaboration tools (ex: Intralinks, eRoom, etc) " MAC OS/X & Windows support experience (Linux/Unix a plus) " Wiki / Viki management " Supplier management experience in a service environment " Knowledge of field support / events Key Responsibilities: Candidates will posses proven experience in the above technologies/areas and their applications in a quickly evolving environment. Under the direction of the Associate Director, Service Center, s/he will contribute to strategy and drive execution in the areas of desktop support services. This candidate will be part of a Service Delivery “team” that defines solutions with the appropriate frameworks in place to deliver them in a strategic and efficient manner. Candidate will be accountable for the following: -Ability to provide senior / advanced support activities in support of on-shore/off-shore support functions. -Ability to prioritize, plan and organize work and deliverables. -Mentor for both on-shore and off-shore staff -Experience with desktop and server technologies including virtualization technologies -Delivery of detailed, professional documentation. -Able to design, create, debug and install zero touch deployment methodology -Experience with developing and implementing custom solutions as well as bringing new ideas to a team environment -Innovate to define/improve user services and customer experience. -Corporate communications regarding the above. Minimal Requirements: Minimum of 5 years experience in a call center or technical service oriented environment. Direct Pharmaceutical experience a strong plus. Strong customer focus and hands on experience in user support. Solid interpersonal and communication skills, addressed to both technical and management audiences. Highly collaborative and team oriented in approach to problem solving. Detail-oriented, flexible, able to meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure. Strong analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. FDA regulatory experience highly preferred. BS degree required or equivalent work experience preferred. Supplier management experience including the development of 3 rd party service augmentation models a requirement. Apply Now
