Title:Configuration Management Engineer
I. Basic Function:
Maintains project Configuration Management (CM) processes to support research and development (R&D) of Pyxis Products. Performs maintenance of CM tools and scripts appropriate applications and processes. Initializes and monitors the progress of software and hardware development projects, providing updates as needed during the development cycle. Verifies compliance with CM processes and performs integration of newly developed code upon completion of software development. Builds/compiles software and integrates it into the overall system under development. Responsible for maintaining the Configuration Management Manual and associated documentation for disseminating CM processes to the development team.
II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:

Takes an active role in all CM related matters for the project development teams and directs other team members as necessary to support CM functions.
Provides periodic updates to the CM Manual and other related documentation for dissemination of CM processes and procedures.
Maintains and monitors the software and hardware development lifecycle from creation to completion and ensures that all documented CM processes are followed. This includes verification of complete documentation and correct version/revision tagging for affected source code files.
Responsible for producing nightly builds of all active projects and providing controlled (documented) software builds for system testing.
Performs software integration that includes building/compiling source code, documenting the software build process, verifying the stability of the built code, and releasing the executable files upon completion.
Provides liaison with the Information Technology (IT) group to ensure timely and effective resolution of project resource problems. This includes controlling network permissions to CM directories and system resources as needed for day-to-day operations and replacement/upgrade of software packages for developers.
Maintains the R&D software resource library and local backup CD repository.

Education or Equivalent:Bachelor's degree required, with typically two to five years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with the following
• Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, XP and XPE
• SCM tools, including Perforce, Mks, DOORS, PVCS
• Scripting, including PERL, Batch, Python,
• Orcale and SAP
• PDM Works
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Ability to multi-task, must have excellent troubleshooting skills, have sense of ownership/responsibility for assigned project(s), and excel at following up on and resolving issues.
