As part of the Corporate EHS team, the initial roles of this engineering position will be to: 1) compile and evaluate the accuracy of EHS data on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis using the EHS information management system software and provide corresponding reports to management, and 2) work with the R&D and Product Development groups (e.g. the Device Center of Excellence) to perform sustainability-based life cycle impact assessments on new products being developed. The position will initially also be very involved with the product stewardship program, including implementing a new database. Eventually, the position will expand to include traditional EHS duties such as developing, implementing and administering many different types of EHS programs and policies, providing EHS technical support and non-routine problem solving to global facilities, participating in corporate and other EHS audits, and assisting with and driving EHS compliance initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS: A BS degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering is required (other engineering or science-related degrees will be considered). An MS degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Ideally, the candidate will have 2-3 years of facility or corporate experience in this field; entry-level candidates will also be considered. Candidates must be willing to aggressively seek professional certifications (e.g. PE, CSP). Must be a personable, independent and innovative self-starter and have very strong analytical and problem solving skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills are essential. Must have the ability to efficiently and effectively interact with multi-functional teams, as well as lead, facilitate and motivate teams. Must have very strong computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other data management applications. Solid training skills are a definite plus and must be able to work with all levels of employees effectively. Good understanding of basic EHS regulations and EHS management systems preferred. Multi-lingual capability (English plus at least one other language) is considered a plus. Lean and/or Six Sigma skills are also a plus. Initially travel will be ~10%, and may expand to 25-30% and will include international destinations.
