Environmental Health and Safety Manager (Bio Lab Experience)

Nitto Denko Technical Corp (NDT www.ndtcorp.com) is a growing research and product development company and a leading provider of drug and siRNA delivery technologies and transfection products. We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to manage our Environmental Health and Safety program.

 

Environmental Health & Safety Manager:  Manages the development, planning and implementation of environmental, industrial, health and safety programs within the company.  Develops health and safety policies and procedures (experience wet lab/clean room safety, and technical equipment, chemical safety, biological safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention, and building safety), including those pertaining to hazardous materials and work areas.  May oversee compliance training and inspect lab and clean room areas to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health standards.  Monitors performance of Environmental Health and Safety programs and regulatory compliance with all global regulations, and handles all contact with the appropriate government agencies.  Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in physical science or related science Proven environmental health and safety compliance background with demonstrated results (1-3 years minimum) in the environmental compliance field, including industrial wastewater treatment, hazardous waste management, air pollution control and emergency response; chemical handling and storage; industrial hygiene; clean-room safety; and laboratory safety to include chemical safety, biological safety, nanotechnology, laser safety, and radiation safety  OSHA reporting, handling, investigation, compliance Premises security measures Lab Safety and Maintenance; knowledge of lab equipment and safety operation; wet lab R & D, clean room environment  Hazardous material approval and management of MSDS Strong knowledge of safety management in non-union environment; industrial hygiene; ergonomics; Federal, State, Local and OSHA regulations Strong verbal and written communication skills for reports, data analysis, issue research and resolution, communication of safety enforcement, and program development Ability to manage multiple assignments and balance time allotted appropriately Due to interaction levels and issues handled, strong interpersonal/negotiating skills

 



NDT is a Research and Development company operating in a state of the art lab environment using chemicals and laser systems.
