Requirements include:

·  Board Certified MD with Medical training or pharmaceutical experience in Cardiovascular, Metabolic Diseases

·  12+ years experience required.

·  Strong managerial and leadership skills required with a minimum of 7 years prior management experience

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Responsibilities include:

·  Evaluate and provide technical and managerial input into drug development and discovery programs through supervision of assigned staff and through participation in international and local committees.

·  Establishe objectives and annual goals for the Therapeutic Area. Propose priorities to management and ensure the allocation of resources meet these goals and objectives. Prepare estimates and manage the budget for the Therapeutic Area.

·  Direct the preparation of progress reports and presentations, and ensure that management is aware of the current status, progress and future prospects of the programs within the Therapeutic Area.

·  Keep abreast of current scientific progress and actively develop and maintain relationships with outside experts. Serve as a key liaison by representing the company with outside groups.
