Position Description:We are currently seeking a Facilities Electrician II.JOB PURPOSE:Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the electrical distribution systems of the facility to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting, and facilities infrastructure in accordance with codes, regulations, and safety specifications.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Under direction of the facilities maintenance supervisor, provide the daily electrical maintenance operations and activities for the Irvine facility. Receive and perform work orders and requests, investigate problems where appropriate, and complete the necessary repairs following the guidance of the appropriate Standard Operating Procedure(s) as is applicable.Work involves electrical maintenance of circuits or equipment operating at voltages of 4160 or less such as substations, power panels, transformers, motors, motor control centers, circuit breakers, conduits, cables, power distribution units, lighting fixtures and utilization devices. Must be familiar with power monitoring devices, shunt trip breakers, EPO switches, automatic transfer switches and generator electrical connections. Individual must be able to interpret wiring diagrams, inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective actions. Tasks may include: Field wiring & conduit installations, Motor Control Center service and repairs, Lighting systems service and repairs, Uninterruptible Power Supply systems, Emergency Generators & power transfer systems, Variable Frequency Drive service, Control, monitoring devices & control wiring installations, Motor trouble shooting, replacement & alignment.Must be familiar with basic NEC code & wiring requirements, must be able to read electrical schematics and as built drawings. Must be fully familiar with hand held testing equipment & meters such as: Megger, Volt-ohm meters (Fluke, Triplet, etc…) and HiPot Testing equipment. Must be fully qualified on all safety procedures such as: Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures, “Hot” work safety procedures, Grounding protection & isolation practices and confined Space protocols. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in awkward positions. Must be able to design and fabricate brackets, stands and any other special apparatus required to complete a particular job assignment. Be flexible to periodically work different shifts, days and hours as required per projects or coverage. Complete tasks in a timely and presentable manner, followed by good housekeeping.Must be able make red lines on prints and turn in for proper documentation. Two years formal vocational or technical training. Must have a minimum of three years experience in field. Ability to read and comprehend complex blueprints. Thorough knowledge of facilities, machinery, and equipment wiring. Ability to use precision instruments accurately. Ability to perform assigned tasks in a neat and professional manner.
