Field Application Scientist -real time PCR

Our client is an exciting start-up life science company whose mission is to make advanced molecular diagnostic products more accessible for critical medical and scientific applications. The company's technology is the result of many years of cross-disciplinary research and development led by some of the world's most respected molecular biologists and engineers at the California Institute of Technology.  They have developed a new generation of molecular diagnostic technology that radically reduces cost, size and power requirements without compromising efficacy, so that the full power of MD can be applied to major health issues of today, such as personalized medicine, pandemic screening and biosecurity.

 

They are searching for a Field Application Scientist to assist other scientists within research organizations in achieving their objectives by supporting development of the Company's real-time PCR system.  This is an outstanding opportunity to move from research to the business side of the industry. 

 

Responsibilities:

 Support development of real time PCR system including analysis software, templates and wizards, analysis protocols and user interfaceCoordinate VOC surveys, focus groups, external software and system testing (beta site evaluations) to generate data for publication and use in marketing tools (website)Develop and present seminars on qPCR applications and Company’s systemConduct scientific meeting presentationsDevelop training tools and modules for website (webinars)Develop and coordinate collaborations with key scientists and opinion leaders to promote Company’s system positioning and adoptionSupport data generation and analysis for external evaluator publications/postersDevelop and provide training for distribution partner(s)

  Requirements:

 PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or other scientific fieldMUST HAVE experience using real-time and qPCR techniques for research applications (i.e. gene expression, viral load)Experience designing and optimizing probe-based assays/experiments for qPCR or real-time analysisExcellent communication skills  Outstanding presentation skills
